NICOSIA, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Cyprus's incumbent President Nicos Anastasiades is set to win a second term in a presidential runoff election on Sunday against leftist candidate Stavros Malas, according to actual election results.

With almost 79 percent of ballots counted, Anastasiades led with 56.1 percent of the vote, with Malas trailing with 43.9 percent.

Anastasiades was re-elected on the economic achievement of his government which turned a ruined economy in 2013 into a dynamic and flourishing one in five years.

He also promised to seek an early resumption of his stalled negotiations with Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci for the reunification of Cyprus.

A presidential palace source said that Malas has already conceded defeat and called Anastasiades to congratulate him on his re-election.

Sunday's runoff was a repeat of the 2013 runoff in which Anastasiades was elected against Malas.
