KABUL, July 27 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan interim government's Ministry of Transport and Aviation has announced that a total of 96,500 international flights traversed Afghanistan's airspace over the past year.
"Over the past year, a total of 96,500 overflights have taken place through Afghanistan's airspace, averaging approximately 270 flights every 24 hours," Mawlawi Fathullah Mansour, deputy minister of aviation operations, said during a government accountability program.
According to Mansour, over 14,000 flights were operated from Afghan airports during the cited period, as Kabul Airport alone accounted for more than 7,600 domestic and international flights. ■
