RIYADH, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- In light of Yemen's difficult economic conditions, Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday a new economic aid package worth 1.38 billion Saudi riyals (368 million U.S. dollars) to support the country.
Channeled through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, the package aims to strengthen Yemen's economic, financial and monetary stability, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The aid package includes budgetary support for the Yemeni government, subsidies for petroleum derivatives and funding for the operating expenses of Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in the Aden Governorate, said the report.
Saudi Arabia said that the support aligns with its efforts to bolster Yemen's economic reforms and its commitment to fostering security, stability and development for the Yemeni people. ■
