ISLAMABAD, July 26 (Xinhua) -- At least 271 people were killed and 655 others were injured across Pakistan due to rain-related incidents since June 26, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The casualties resulted from various monsoon-related hazards, including house collapses, flash floods, drowning, and lightning strikes, the NDMA said in its latest situation report released on Saturday.
The NDMA said it continues to work closely with provincial disaster management bodies to monitor the situation, coordinate relief efforts, and issue necessary alerts as the monsoon season progresses. ■
