HANOI, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Three coal miners were confirmed dead and two others were injured in a gas incident at a coal mine in northern Vietnam's Quang Ninh province on Sunday morning, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The incident occurred while a group of five workers were carrying out their task at an underground mine operated by the Duong Huy Coal Company, according to the report.
By 12:30 p.m., two workers had been brought out of the site and transferred to a hospital for emergency treatment.
At 1:30 p.m., rescuers recovered the bodies of the three remaining workers, who had died of exposure to toxic gas, the report said. ■
