CARACAS, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez on Thursday presided over the installation of nine working groups established to assess and improve public services nationwide.

The move is part of a government program called "New Start to the Revolution," launched by President Nicolas Maduro following his reelection in May.

Rodriguez told state-run VTV that cabinet members and state governors would participate in the working groups to forge a single policy and find effective solutions to poor public services.

Maduro named Rodriguez, former foreign minister and president of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), to be his vice president two weeks ago, entrusting her with the task of making government more efficient and designing a system to gauge the results.

Oil-producing Venezuela has been struggling with an acute economic crisis since crude oil prices crashed in the international market, affecting state coffers and government-run services such as mass transit and utilities, like electricity and water.
