XI'AN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese women team snatches two consecutive wins here on Saturday at FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup, but still failed to qualify from the group stage.

Song Kexin, who was born in Xi'an, became the city's hero on Saturday. In the game with Romania, She grabbed China's first eight points and helped the host team keep eight points lead in the first five minutes. At last, China defeated Romania 18-8 and earned its first victory in the WC.

When facing against Uganda in the final round pool game, Song Kexin helped China make a 7-2 lead at the beginning. Although team Uganda narrowed the gap to three, Song helped her team pull away to seal the win at 21-13.

In the other Pool A's final round game played on Saturday, Germany edged Hungary 14-11. The two teams qualified for the quarter-finals while China had to settle for the third place in the group and failed to advance into the quarter-finals.
