BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The preliminary round of the 2019 World Flower Art Contest was held Sunday at the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, according to the expo's organizer.

A total of 33 florists from 31 countries and regions competed in the contest. The final round will be held from Monday to Tuesday.

More than 100 floral works created by the participants will be displayed to the public after the contest, said the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau.

The contest is the first international flower art competition held in the International Horticultural Exposition.
