NEW DELHI, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Indian Coast Guard has apprehended a Myanmar vessel near Car Nicobar island as the authorities found "suspicious substance" onboard, an official statement said on Saturday.

The Indian Coast Guard in its tweet said "Indian Coast Guard ship Rajveer detained Myanmarese vessel with 6 crew operating near Car Nicobar Island on September 19."

It added "On rummaging the vessel on September 20, gunny bundles with suspicious substance found onboard. Gunny bundles brought to Port Blair and under investigation by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)."
